Dorian Breuer of PERRO (Pilsen Environmental Rights and Reform Organization), discusses a lawsuit that will soon by filed against Midwest Generation, owners of the Fisk and Crawford coal fired power plants and recent victories in PERRO’s struggle with the H. Kramer Co.
In the second half of the program I talk with four Honduran human rights activists about the ongoing crisis in Honduras following the June 28th coup. Abencio Fernández Pineda coordinator of the Center for the Investigation and Defense of Human Rights in Honduras (CIPRODEH), Maria Luisa Jimenez a candidate for Honduran Congress with the Democratic Union party (UD), Dr. Luther Castillo a Garifuna medical doctor and community organizer who directs the Luaga Hatuadi Waduheñu Foundation, and Gerardo Torres a journalist who is part of the social organization Bloque Popular and the National Front Against the Coup de Etat talk with me about the struggle against the coup and the deteriorating human rights situation in Honduras.
